Salna  and parotta makes a perfect pair and one of the most famous salna is chicken salna or simply parotta chalna. Tamil video of this chicken salna is embedded below.  Now let us learn to make this fingerlicking chicken chalna.

Ingredients -
chicken 3/4 kg
chopped garlic – 1 tbsp
chopped ginger – 1 tbsp
chopped onion – 1 cup
green chili – 2
oil, salt, curry leaves
To grind 
onion – 1 cup
tomato – 2
garlic – 7
ginger – small piece
dry chili – 6,7
coriander seeds – 2 tbsp
cumin seed – 3/4 tbsp
cardamom, cinnamon, cloves
coconut – 6 pieces
poppy seeds – 1 tbsp
For seasoning
fennel seed – 3/4 tsp
pepper – 1/2 tsp

Method 

1. Roast the spices under ‘ To grind ‘ and saute onion, garlic, tomato, ginger, coconut. Now grind it to a fine paste. Set this aside.

2. In a pan add 4 tsp of oil, add seasoning ingredients,  and saute chopped garlic, chopped ginger, chopped onion, g. chil. Then add chicken, stir this mixture for 5 minutes without adding water

3. When chicken pieces begin to expel water, shift this to a pressure cooker and allow it to cook for 3 pressure sounds
4. Finally garnish it with coriander leaves before enjoying this parotta chalna

5. chicken salna is ready to serve with chapati, parota, roti, naan
