Leftover idly upma recipe in Tamil – idli upma seivathu eppadi

Idly upma is an South Indian recipe made with fresh idli or leftover idlis. This idli upma is the most simple and easy tiffin variety. of all other leftover idli recipes such as idli crunch, chili idli and mushroom idli. Tamil video of this recipe is embedded below.

Tamil Video Recipe

left over idly – 8 ( cut into small cubes of idlies )
chopped big onion – 1 cup
mustard seed – 1 tsp
green chili – 3
ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
curry leaves
dry chili pdr – 1 tsp
turmeric pdr – 1/4 tsp

1. Heat oil with3 tsp of oil – add mustard seed, urad dal – Once it splutters saute onion. curry leaves, green chili till it turns brown.
2. Now add ginger garlic paste, chili pdr, turmeric and give mix for a minute.
3. Now add slat ( keep in mind that idly has been salted already. Add salt only for onions & spices )
4. Add idly cubes to  it and mix it well. Now idli upma can be served.
