PEANUT CURRY FOR CHAPATI – Kadalai curry in Tamil

This peanut gravy is a mouth watering side dish for chapati. To cook dried groundnut, it should be soaked in water at least for 3 hours. You can make kadalai masala using this peanuts. Tamil video of this recipe embedded below.  Now let us learn to make kadalai curry.

INGREDIENTS

soaked peanuts / ground nut – 1 cup

coconut – 1/4 cup

dry chili – 1

tomato – 1

chopped onion – 1

garlic cloves – 10

mustard seed – 1/2 tsp

cumin seed – 1/2 tsp

cashews – few

garam masala – 1/2 tsp

chili pdr, fennel seed pdr, ginger garlic paste – 1/2 tsp each


preparation 
1. Soak peanuts for about 4 hours. Pressure cook this peanuts for 3 sounds.
2. Fry cashews – with cashews add coconut, dry chili, tomato and saute all these ingredients
3. After cooling it to room temperature grind it with chili pdr, fennel seed pdr, ginger garlic paste, garam masala pdr to a fine paste – set this aside.
4. In a pan add 2 tsp of oil  – add mustard seed, cumin seed
5. Now saute garlic, onion one by one, add curry leaves, cooked peanuts and ground paste.
6. Boil this for 10 minutes. add salt. garnish it with coriander leaves
7. Serve peanut curry with chapati, roti, or naan, or idly, dosa
