Peerkankai thogayal in Tamil – Ridge gourd chutney

Learn how to make peerkankai thogayal / thuvayal in a simple method . ( Seivathu eppadi endra Tamil video ingu inaikkapattullathu )

Ridge gourd slices – 1/2 cup
Coconut – 1/4 cup
Garlic – 2 no.
Onion – 1/4 cup
Tamarind – small amla size.
Green chilli – 2
Asafoetida / hing – pinch
Mustard seed – 1/2 tsp
Urad dal – 3/4 tsp
1. Heat 2 tsp of oil, splutter mustrad seed, urad dal. Saute onion, garliv, curry leaves, green chilli, asafoetida till they turn tender.
2. Now saute ridge gourd / peerkankai, coconut, tamarind for 3 minutes on low flame. Add salt. Grind this mixture to coarse chutney or fine chutney.
3. Ridge gourd chutney is ready to serve with idly, dosa.
