Simple tofu curry – Side dish for chapati, bread, naan
Today my recipe is Simple Tofu Curry, side dish for chapati, roti , naan and bread. It is little bit different from paneer butter masal or tofu butter masala. Tamil video of this recipe is embedded below. For this soya paneer curry I have used ‘ Mori-nu Silken Tofu ‘ mainly used in salads. Its texture is almost like boiled egg white. Yummy….
Tofu paneer – 250g
Onion – 2
Tomato puree from – 3 no.
Butter – 2 tbsp
ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
Chilli pdr – 1 tsp
Coriander pdr – 1 tsp
Garam masala pdr – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric pdr – pinch
Sugar – 1/4 tsp
Kasoori methi or coriander leaves
1. In a kadai heat 2 tbsp of butter, saute chopped onions until brown. Then add ginger garlic paste, chilli pdr, coriander pdr, turmeric pdr, garam masala pdr and stir for a minute.
2. Add tomato puree, salt, sugar and let this gravy cook for 6 to 8 minutes or till the raw smell goes off on low flame. Cover it and stir occasionally.
3. If this simple tofu curry gravy is too thick you can add some water. Check the salt and add tofu cubes. Again let this gravy cook for 5 more minutes on high flame. Stir occsionally.
4. Finally garnish this simple tofu curry with kasoori methi. It will be yummy when it goes with chapati or bread.
