Thakkali kuruma in Tamil – Tomato kurma for idly, dosa side dish
Tomato kurma is a very simple recipe and easy to prepare with few ingredients. It goes well with idli, dosa and chapati. Tamil video of this thakkali kuruma is embedded below.
Tomato – 3
Chopped onion – 1 cup ( 1 no. )
Coconut – 1/4 cup
Garlic clove – 1
Green chili – 1
Fennel seed – 1 tsp
Almonds or Cashews – 10 to 12
Mustard seed – 1/2 tsp
Fennel seed – 1/2 tsp
Pepper – 1/2 tsp
1. Grind all the ingredients under ‘ To Grind ‘. set aside.
2. In a pan heat 2 tsp of oil and add seasoning ingredients, once it splutters saute onions till it turns brown. Then add tomatoes and stir it for a minute. Add ground coconut, salt and required water
3. Shift this mixture to a pressure cooker and let it cook for a sound or cook in a pan for 10 minutes. Add salt.
4. Garnish it with coriander leaves. You can serve this tomato kurma with idly, dosa, and chapati.
